Our Story

Aegir Digital began life in 2015 in Gainsborough, Lincolnshire, founded by Baptiste under the original name Aegir Creative.

What started as a passion for digital design quickly evolved into a trusted partner for organisations across the UK.

But the journey began much earlier…

Back in 2000, Baptiste built his first website for a model agency called Onlymode, featuring a searchable database of models, an early example of combining design with functionality.

Over the next two decades, he honed his craft, designing websites that were not only visually engaging but strategically aligned to each client’s goals.

By 2020, it was clear that hosting these websites in-house would offer even greater value.

Aegir Digital began providing tailored hosting solutions, giving clients more flexibility, security, and control; all under one roof.

In 2016, Aegir Digital welcomed Interserve as a client, marking a turning point in its growth.

Why “Aegir”?

Our name draws inspiration from Ægir, a Norse figure known for hosting grand feasts for the gods—a symbol of generosity, creativity, and connection. It’s also a nod to the Aegir tidal bore on the River Trent in Gainsborough, where powerful natural forces meet. That blend of myth and local geography reflects our ethos: rooted in place, driven by imagination.
